The Galaxy Note 8 could offer a dual-camera setup
With the Samsung Galaxy S8 arriving in the hands of those who pre-ordered it, attention turns to the Galaxy Note 8. The device is expected to have the most important upgrade in the history of the series according to new reports.
Popular Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has offered his predictions for the next Galaxy Note 8 device from Samsung saying that the phone will feature a dual-camera setup with a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 13MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom.
Both sensors will have OIS and six-element lenses, with Kuo stating that the dual rear cameras will be the “most important upgrade” in the Note 8.
To offer some scale of the performance of the new camera setup on the Galaxy Note 8, Kuo suggests that they will be much better than that of the iPhone 7 Plus.
Samsung experimented with a dual-camera setup on the Galaxy S8 but decided against the idea as it didn’t find any “real value for it”.
However, it could be that Samsung were saving it for the Galaxy Note 8 as an upcoming flagship feature.
