Save battery on your Galaxy S8 by disabling this feature

Some of the few complaints around the new Samsung Galaxy S8 have been the disappointment Samsung didn’t put a bigger battery in the device. While the battery will easily last up to a day with normal use, here’s a little trick to get a bit extra from the device.

Samsung include a feature on the Galaxy S8 called Nearby Device Scanning and it’s switched on my default. The feature uses Bluetooth Low Energy to scan for nearby devices but still works even when Bluetooth is turned off.

With the device constantly scanning for others nearby it no doubt will have a bit on the battery but luckily you can just disable it.

If you head into settings>connections>more connection settings>nearby device scanning and toggle the switch off then you should notice a little boost in battery over time.
