Samsung looking into Galaxy Note 8 battery issue
Some users have previously reported that they were having issues with their Note 8 not recognising a charge after reaching 0%.
Effectively rendering the Note 8 a brick, swapping chargers or cables wouldn’t change the device not turning on when being plugged in, no matter how long it was left.
Reports have correlated around the US variant of the Note 8 suggesting that the battery issue could be limited to the Snapdragon-powered version. What isn’t understood is whether the problem is attributable to software or hardware and it seems wireless charging doesn’t help either.
Samsung have issued a statement and acknowledged the reports of the Note 8 battery.
Samsung is taking all reports of this kind seriously, we only received a very small number of customer inquiries that could be linked to charge management, and unfortunately we can only comment on the matter further.
While the statement doesn’t offer any clarity around the problem or a solution, it does offer some confirmation that Samsung will help consumers that have had the issue with their Note 8 and that the company is looking into it.
