New renders confirm fingerprint scanner placement on the Galaxy Note 8
Yesterday, we saw a video render of the highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which revealed everyone’s biggest fears. The fingerprint scanner would return to the rear of the device, placed next to the heart rate sensor and flash on in the camera module. This follows the trend started by the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, which was not well received by reviewers.

Some folks didn’t want to believe this was real, but it seems that we’ll all have to just deal with it after a series of renders revealed the case lineup from Olixar. The renders show off various cases for the Galaxy Note 8, including what we are expecting to be Samsung’s logo for the device.
There may be some hope on the horizon for ultrasonic fingerprint scanners as Qualcomm has made an announcement today. The announcement states that its technology will be ready for new devices coming in the Summer of 2018.
That’s obviously not the time frame that we were hoping to hear, but at least we know it’s on the way and can stop speculating as to whether a new device will feature the technology. Let us know what you think about these latest leaks and if you’ll be looking to pick up the Note 8.
